Do OCU Retirees or Alums keep Microsoft licenses?
Effective 08/01/2024
Microsoft has changed their licensing where non-employees and non-students will no longer have access to the desktop version of Microsoft Office, which includes Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. While technically retirees and alums never should have had access to these desktop apps, it was only recently that Microsoft made changes to their licensing to remove these.
You will still have access to the web versions of this applications just as you did previously.
- Login to https://office.com with your retiree or alum account
- Click apps launcher in the upper left corner of the screen
- Choose the app you wish to use
If you have been receiving warnings within the desktop versions of the Office applications, this change in licensing is the reason.
