Wireless network configuration using OCUsecure (preferred)
All wireless devices for faculty, staff and students should be configured for the OCUsecure wireless network if at all possible. It offers the most secure connectivity of the three options, using WPA2 Enterprise security. Most modern operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, iOS, etc) support WPA2 Enterprise and simply require you to enter your OCU network username and password to connect.
If your device will not automatically connect to this network, you can manually configure the connection using the following information:
SETTING
Value
SECURITY TYPE
WPA2 Enterprise (select WPA2 if the enterprise version is not specifically offered)
ENCRYPTION TYPE
AES
AUTHENTICATION METHOD
Protected EAP (or simply PEAP)
SPECIFIC PEAP RELATED SETTINGS
-
Do not validate server certificates
- Set the authentication method to "EAP-MSCHAP v2"
USERNAME
Use your OCU network username (e.g. "jdoe").
PASSWORD
Use your OCU network password
DOMAIN (IF PROMPTED)
OKCU.EDU
If neither method works, your device likely does not support the WPA2 Enterprise security type. Refer to the instructions for "OCUunsecure" when this is the case.
